This week we focus on someone who many of you already know, our Technical Manager, Nigel Bush. But how well do you REALLY know him ?

Nigel is the Technical Services Manager for Primary Networks Group and is responsible for all technical matters including managing partners and all on-site work. An experienced engineer himself, he has designed and project managed many large projects for the MOD, retail, education and commercial clients.

"Your 60 seconds starts now !"

1. What was your most rewarding project?

Installing and commissioning a brand new Ethernet switching network in a Paper Mill near Inverness (great view of Ben Nevis !)

2. What are your Technical likes?

Challenging new technologies and products that are not Plug’n’Play

3. What are your Technical dislikes?

Inadequate technical support from vendors of new technology products.

4. What do you consider to be the most exciting new technology at the moment?

Secure Access technologies that help to prevent cyber-fraud.

5. What interests do you have outside of work?

Running, walking, DIY, the countryside, natural history, local community, real ale.

6. Who is your favourite personality and why?

Haile Gebreselassie because he’s a world superstar (current marathon record holder) and yet he’s down to earth and he’s always smiling

7. Who is your least favourite personality and why?

Any so called “celebrity” that doesn’t have an ounce of talent in their body!

8. Do you have a favourite film or book?

Yes, Feet in the Clouds (book) – if you like to run in wild places, this book says it all.

9. Do you have any challenges for 2009?

To return to Cape Wrath in the north of Scotland to compete in the week long Cape Wrath Challenge

Nigel is also a keen runner and has taken part in numerous running events including the London Marathon eleven times with a PB of 2h 50m !  He has also been a regular participant in the Dorset Doddle, a coastal footpath run from Weymouth to Swanage over some very big hills, a distance of 31 miles, which he has completed in just over 5 hours when he was really fit. In addition, he has taken part in events in Germany and France and puts the rest of the team in the office to shame !! (mainly because we are all envious !).
